This is a beautiful California Abbey-style ale produced by Anderson Valley Brewing Company– this triple captures notes of clove, mace, toasted pine nuts and everso delicate note of caramel. A testament that an Abbey-style ale can be brewed here and it is an extraordinary value. Found this pint at Bi-Rite for $6.99 a bottle.

This golden beer presents with exquisite notes of cardamom, cinnamon, and clove. A lovely beer that paris with so many meals–I enjoy this with spicy food and last had this beer with Indian food.

Gouden Carolus Tripel is a very dark beer–not as dark as Guinness. This beer is luxuriant and elegant. The notes range from black pepper, cardamom, honeyed truffle moving between each flavor profile in a lyrical manner. A fulfilling experience… one that I cannot wait to experience again and again.

This blond ale from the Maredsous Abbey; at 6% it is still light and it’s bright amber color is fantastically beautiful. This ale is a bit serious yet blankets of cream, toast, almond and other toasted nuts make for a satisfying Belgium blonde ale.

This well known Belgium golden ale presents with notes of butterscotch, subtle simmering spices and finishes nicely with what seems like it might go to bitter but elegantly stops before than point and finishes rich and focused.

Troubador Obscura is a Belgian dark beer with a bold and subtle structure; the beer gives deep chocolate notes with warm spices of cardamom, cinnamon and mace. A delightful beer with food but this is a nice beer to enjoy on it’s own to further appreciate its complexity.
